Top Ten reasons to join SpeakerPacket as a bureau
Every reason below names the feature, the pain it solves, and how easy it is to start. Tap the (i) on any reason for the fuller explanation, how it works, what it costs, and the next step.
The headline first: partnership costs your bureau nothing. Ever.
It costs your bureau nothing. Ever.
Every new platform eventually sends an invoice, charges a commission, or sells your own roster back to you. This one is free in writing: no card, no trial that converts, no bill in month two.
What you get
A full bureau partnership: your listing in the bureau directory, your own Speaker Overflow page and link, the Bureau Resource Kit in your dashboard, roster verification, and the shortlist builder. None of it is metered and none of it expires.
How it works
Apply on the partner page (about three minutes). Approval turns on your listing and your door, usually within one business day. Your commissions and your client relationships stay exactly as they are; SpeakerPacket never sits between you and a booking fee.
Cost: $0, forever. No card is ever requested.
SP Verified: check any speaker in seconds.
A cold speaker’s bio, testimonials, and reel are assertions, and AI can now fabricate all three. Your reputation rides on vetting your staff cannot scale.
What it is
SP Verified is the public record behind a speaker’s claims: engagements confirmed by the people and documents that prove them, held in one record anyone can check. Verification is authentication, never grading: a record confirms or it does not, with no scores and no tiers.
How it works
Open the speaker’s record link, or check a record ID (it looks like SPV-XXXXXX) on the check page, and read the answer in seconds. No login is needed. When your team wants it built in, a read-only status API answers the same question in JSON: the endpoint is printed on our bureau page.
Cost: free, for anyone, member or not.
Free bureau tools, all in one place.
Bureau work runs on a patchwork: one login for this, a spreadsheet for that, a paid tool for the other thing, and none of them talk to each other.
What it is
One hub page collects every tool in the partnership, grouped by the job it does: Check (the record check, roster verification, the status API), Pitch (one-link packets, Wiki Listings, your favorites bench, Speaker Proposal lists), Protect (your Overflow page, the kind no), and Track (pitch tracking and the Overflow Tracker as they ship).
How it works
Open the hub and pick the job. Every tool is labelled with its honest status, ‘Live’, ‘Building’, or ‘Coming’, so you always know what works today and what is on the way. The tools share your bureau login and your speakers’ live records, so nothing is retyped between them.
Cost: free for partners, every tool on the page.
One link does it all.
Evaluating a pitch means chasing a one-sheet here, a reel there, references by phone. Then you book the speaker and the second chase starts: headshots, bio, introduction, AV needs, travel, all by email. Most of the friction in a booking is paperwork, not quality.
What it is
The complete SpeakerPacket behind one link. For evaluation: verified engagements, confirmed reviews, video, sessions, bio, and fees. Once you book: the full working packet your planner and venue need, headshots, the generated introduction, AV requirements, and travel details. One link serves both moments.
How it works
Open the link and decide. When you book, send the same link on to your planner and the venue: everything they need is already there, pulled from the speaker’s live record, so nothing is reformatted, re-sent, or a version behind. No attachments, no chase, no second round of emails.
Cost: free for partners.
Your top four or five, comparable at a glance.
A planner choosing between speakers gets four different PDFs in four different formats, and the comparison work lands on them. Slow, inconsistent, and hard to update when a speaker changes.
What it is
The builder turns verified records into a polished, bureau-branded Speaker Proposal you send a planner as one link: your name and contact details on it, and every speaker in the same format, the same fields, side by side. Pick your top four or five, send them, and this is what they will see: one page, ready to compare, with the speakers’ live packets behind every entry.
How it works
Pick speakers from verified records onto a Speaker Proposal List, one per planner, and the proposal builds itself from their packets. Edit it any time; the link the planner already holds shows the current version, so a fee change or a new video never strands an old PDF in their inbox.
Cost: free for partners.
Verify your roster, in batches.
Planners increasingly ask bureaus to stand behind a roster’s claims. Vouching speaker by speaker, event by event, does not scale, and one inflated bio damages the whole bureau.
What it is
Roster verification runs your current speakers’ engagements through the same SP Verified confirmation system, in small batches, and hands you back a roster you can stand behind in a planner meeting.
How it works
Send names in batches. Confirmation asks go out as light, one-click requests to the clients and bureaus who can confirm each event. Confirmed events land on each speaker’s record, and you receive the batch result: who is confirmed, who is still pending, and what could not be confirmed.
What you will see
Each verified speaker also gets a Wiki Listing: the neutral, planner-facing page built from their record, with the confirmation trail for every claim set out at the bottom. It is the exact page your planners will open, so you see your roster the way the buyer sees it.
Cost: free for partners.
Your own Overflow door ends the pitch flood.
Around 100 speakers a week pitch a typical bureau by email, each one a sales letter with attachments, and there is no entrance other than your inbox.
What it is
Speaker Overflow is a co-branded page that carries your bureau name: speakerpacket.com/overflow/your-bureau/. It changes the direction of your pitches. Instead of landing in your inbox as sales letters, speakers follow one structured pathway and arrive as complete packets.
How it works
- Your page is live in your bureau dashboard the moment you are approved, link ready to copy.
- Post the link once: your submissions page, your email auto-reply, your guidelines. The Resource Kit wording for each spot is ready to paste (reason 3).
- Speakers who come through it build a packet and a verified record. You check one page instead of your inbox.
Cost: free for partners. Setup takes about ten minutes.
A kind no, in one paste.
Silence feels rude and breeds follow-up emails. A flat no feels final and burns a speaker who might be ready in two years. Staff time goes to replies that help nobody.
What it is
The Bureau Resource Kit: ready-made wording for the moments your team answers speakers you cannot take on. An addition for your auto-reply, a paragraph for a “not a fit right now” email, and a blurb for your representation page, each pointing the speaker to your Overflow door as a genuine next step.
How it works
Copy, paste, done. The exact standard wording is published in the Resource Kit section of our bureau page, so you can read every word before you apply. In your dashboard the same blocks arrive with your bureau name and your own door link already filled in.
Cost: free for partners.
The Overflow Tracker: nobody you passed on is lost.
A “not yet” today is a write-off. Two years later that speaker has a real record, and neither of you remembers the other.
What it is
Every speaker you send through your Overflow door is recorded in your bureau’s tracker, with their current verified engagements count. Attribution is non-exclusive: if two bureaus send the same speaker, both keep the look. Nobody loses a speaker to another bureau’s link.
Where it stands
Your door is live today and joins through it are already attributed to your bureau. The tracker view inside your dashboard is in build now and will surface every speaker who came through your door, with the record they have built since. It fills itself; there is nothing to maintain. Its monthly look-back email lives with it on the Free Bureau Tools hub.
Cost: free for partners, included with the door.
Discovery that never becomes an auction.
Every directory drifts toward pay to play: featured listings, boosted profiles, rankings for sale. The moment discovery is bought, it stops being trustworthy for the bureau doing the looking.
The promise, in writing
Discovery on SpeakerPacket is pull-based: bureaus search and browse public verified records by topic, fee, and location, and results are complete and neutrally ordered. No featured listings, no paid placement, no rankings, at any tier, ever. Money buys membership, tools, and speed; it never buys the verdict, visibility, or placement.
Where it stands
The promise is published on our bureau page today. The search itself is next in the build, alongside the bureau queue view named on that page; until it ships, the verified directory lists every verified speaker in the order they were verified, never ranked.
Cost: free. The promise is the product.
Start with the free part
Three minutes to apply, your door live in about ten, and a partnership that never sends you an invoice. If SpeakerPacket earns a place in your workflow after that, it will be because the door, the records, and the second looks are useful, not because a trial expired.
